I have cunningly constructed a wee chart for you all on my personal likes and dislikes of various bits of life here in HK... Its a work in progress... MUCH LOVE tX

WEATHER
+Can wear flip-flops year round
+Air con in every available closed area!
+Typhoon no8 signal = day off work woohoo

-Sweaty smelly unattractive mess
-Sudden downpours = non cool hair situations

FOOD & DRINK
+Authentic Chinese, dim sum delights
+Wide range of cuisines to suit all tastes
+Mango juice in a carton….mmmm

-Crocodile face meat, need I say anymore??!!
-No Cheese & onion pastys :-(

TRANSPORT
+Fast, efficient, reliable, cheap as chips

-The MTR (tube) pushers who stand at the door and shoulder push their way onto the train as you are trying to get off!
- Taxi drivers who for no apparent reason randomly refuse to take you in their cabs (the height of annoyance!)

LANGUAGE
+use a little, get lots of respect (or amusement depending!)

-Hard language to learn with hundreds of words that sound EXACTLY the same but apparantly sound different… lies all lies!

HOUSING
+….

-teeny tiny matchbox homes for majority, unless you live in the sticks or are a gazillionaire

SHOPPING
+Shops and markets to suit all tastes and budgets, unusual treats to be found

-Distinct lack of vintage goodies
-Asian size zero clothing and midget shoes make you feel like a fat freak with big feet!

WORK
+Hard working, resourceful teams who are dedicated to getting the best result at all costs

-To do so usually involves working for 90% of your day
