22/08/2008 - Baton down the hatches!!
Yet another typhoon to hit HK this weekend, this time on a Friday, thus just in time for a long weekend (my rain dance worked!). Wild rumours were circulating round the office yesterday with talks of a T10 heading this way!! Scale goes:
T1 - typhoon approaching, generally still quite sunny and warm no rain, get a little hopeful and start to pray for day off
T3 - typhoon getting closer, getting breezy (actually very pleasant!) and time to secure the windows etc, go to bed convinced that tomorrow will be a day off if you have a word with the man upstairs
T8 - Typhoon officially approaching (big step up here), wild rain and wind, excitement at seeing the little no. 8 on the top hand corner of the Tv screen, day off work, straight back to bed!
T9 - Typhoon at the front door, wind and rain delux, stay away from the windows, do not leave the house!
T10 - The mother of typhoons, its arrived and is kicking off in style, expect to see cars flying past the window any minute!!
So now we are on a T9 its expected to hit 10 as the day goes on with typhoon Nuri on track to blow straight over Hk towards southeast coast of the mainland. Windows are secure, barriers in place, dvds at the ready and a fully stocked fridge for the weekend!
I LOVE typhoon season woohoo!!!
