22/08/2008- Kooks

Went to see the Kooks last night and have to say they were quite awesome and I had myself quite the mini danceathon, you can never really properly dance at a gig (unless you are off your face on substances, legal - or otherwise in many obvious cases lol).

So instead you and everyone else around you ends up kinda just bopping up and down, and there are far too many people trying to look cool and too many people - and this is my pet hate at gigs - who stand COMPLETELY still, not even a head nod for the entire thing. It puzzles me how its possible to go to a live music event full of people with sound blaring out and not move even slightly!
There are however, always plenty of nutters and its always interesting to see what kind of crowd the band will pull. Last night it was busier than the Stereophonics last month but the venue was still not filled, the place needed to be like half the size and it would have been even more brilliant!

Band were great, lead singer was blatantly not in the land of sober but this only seemed to be a good thing. Cant help thinking that a band like the Kooks are suited so much more to outdoor festival venues instead, with sunshine, grassy field and plenty of beer but glad they came to Hk, hopefully more bands to follow.

Live music injection was well needed, well received, and much appreciated!!
