So...Beijing, I have a series of mega posts to share with you on my mini break. 1st of which is my trip to see some of the Para-Olympics - wheelchair basketball. I met the GB rowing coach in the hotel I was staying in and he was telling me some interesting stories about the olympic shenanigans, such as one athlete who was caught stuffing the free snickers bars into the crevices of her wheelchair hahaha.
On his team, I was asking about the disabilities and there causes. 1 athlete used to be part of the Royal Ballet before a routing operation on her knee left her paralyzed in one leg, another 2athletes fell off a balcony whilst drunk and are now wheelchair bound!!
We watched the basketball from the National indoor stadium, just next to the water cube, then did the obligatory photos of the birds nest stadium etc!
