08/04/2009 - Oasis in HK
Usual scenario here in Hk, unfilled venues, unenthusiastic crowds. No-one seemed 'Mad fer it' as Id expect at an Oasis gig, and even the usually entertaining (if a bit of an arrogant numwit) Liam seemed bored, wandering off between his songs and not bothering to say goodbye to everyone... slight anticlimax, with a general 'oh has it finished' vibe at the end.
They seemed to realise that the crowd were only interested in hearing the classics very early on and indulged us with tunes such as Songbird, Slide Away, Masterplan, Wonderwall, and a great acoustic rendition of Dont look back in anger.
Overall, glad I went but yet again the setting felt all wrong... need to find out who I talk to about this - except for the entire gig going population in Hong Kong who dont know how to rock out.
In the words of the band itself, 'gonna start a revolution from my bed'
Lots of love from a 'musically dissatisfied, non-rocked' Tx
