05/09/2009 - Koh Samui

Ive just returned from a the most chillaxed sunshine soaked, fantabulously relaxed holiday in Koh Samui - which is an southern island in Thailand.

We were staying at a friends (omfg its amazing) pad in the north east of the island, just 10 mins from the airport.

Given that the group of who went down are all used to running on Hk hectic scheduling this proved to be a extremely relaxing (read: lazy) break for us all. Venturing as far as the local beach for watersports was the extent of our island adventures inbetween tanning, spa treatments, swimming, eating and sleeping - lushious!

I did do one slightly more adventurous roadtrip down the coast with SnT to have a gander at the island outside of the private villa bubble we had created for ourselves. I was surprised to see quite a lot of development, the islands coast is a vast dense line of places to stay, shops, bars, spas, and restaurants.
I even, amongst the tropical palm trees, stumbled across a TESCO store! Very bizarre, the layout inside is exactly the same, I felt as if I were back in the motherland for a second.

A short 2hours flight there, I cannot wait to take advantage of a long weekend again sometime soon :)
