29/09/2007 Nesting and that damn whiskey!

Its been a few days since my last entry, but as predicted work and my social life have picked up dramatically this week! Lets see what have I done this week…?

Well on Wednesday it was a public holiday so I headed down to Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok to investigate the markets and got a little bit lost and have to admit wasn’t the most adventurous I could have been! Did manage to pick up a gorgeous red placemat/chop stick set for my new flat (only $35), following that went to IKEA on a bender to buy pots/pans and bedding… have a lovely red and white oriental flower print set now, although all the bedding in Hk comes in about 6 different sizes and I have no idea which one is applicable for my new bed… so I bought the biggest one which I don’t think is correct but better to have bedding that is too big rather than too small right!

In the evening I headed out for dinner (Chinese) and an Imax movie with my new friend Mike and his friends, Mike is the guy I met last weekend in ‘the drop’ when Celina and Angel took me on an alcoholic bender! We ate some delicious pork dumplings and shrimp/egg noodles, and also some drunken chicken (cold chicken that has been soaked for a long time in Chinese white wine…yum yum!)
The movie we went to see was called ‘300’, For those who haven’t seen it… its based on a Frank Miller creation (same as Sin City) with really bizarre and interesting cinematography. The Greek Spartan army (300 of them) have to defend their borders from the invading Persian army… very gory and absolutely brilliant!! The cinema screen was absolutely huuuuge and the seats were super comfy, going to have to make the movies a regular occurrence me thinks! They are also currently showing the latest Harry Potter in 3D!!!

I have a ginormous stack of files to read this weekend and was planning to start them last night but was talked into going out (really wasn’t that hard to be honest!). Headed over to Helen’s house for a BBQ on her roof which was lush. Met a lot of her friends and drank far too much cheap whiskey that I had bought from Park n Shop! Needless to say ended up getting very drunk and then somehow ended up in Central again with Mike and his friends (damn whiskey!). Ended up getting a cab home around 3am and had to try extremely hard not to be sick until I got home! The main disadvantage of having a lobby is that the staff does get to see me stumbling in which definitely adds to the cloud of shame!
I woke up this morning fully clothed with the empty bottle of whiskey besides me, so you know that means I took it out with me into the club and was obviously drinking it with my glasses of ''coke''…when will my student habits die?!!

Off out again today to hit up the beach… nice and relaxing, its about time I took advantage of this hot weather and got a tan!

Forgot my camera last night so you are spared from more drunken pictures!! I will instead take some lovely touristy shots today!

Lots of virtual love for all you lucky recipients!

Tx
