It’s a wee bit nippy noodles here in China today! Its actually still 20C which for Scotland is a fairly pleasant warm spring like day! (Its close to being heat wave esque!). I think maybe because the weather has been so warm and it has suddenly dropped it feels much cooler. I am actually wearing winter tights and boots… saw someone this morning wearing a SCARF!!

So this week I have decided I feel a bit like a contestant on ‘The Apprentice’ (the tv show with Sir Alan Sugar). I have been running all over Hk in taxis picking up fabric swatches.. I was given a supplier list and brief but had to make all of my own decisions (was difficult without superior technical knowledge, where is English Clare when you need her?!). Then today had the boardroom meeting to review my decisions, was a bit scared I would be told all my selections were crap and that they had discovered that actually I was a big fake who snuck into Asia under false pretences!
It seems to be ok, I do appear to have expensive tastes however and got told to simplify my choices (I like all the fancy effects/finishes on the fabrics but they are tres expensive!).
Felt a little out of my depth visiting the fabric mill showrooms, but every time I learnt a little bit more so I guess it is something that comes with experience… I just don’t want to make any stupid rookie mistakes! Must get more accustomed to asking more questions.. it’s a tough balance between wanting to get as much info as possible but at the same time not coming across as completely clueless!!

Went for dumplings for lunch today… delicious but fear I am actually getting slightly chubbier than is ideal… the more I feel that way the more I seem to want to eat (cruel twisted mentality of mine!). Everyone in the office also continues to deposit treats on my desk from warm beef jerky to sticky peanut candy to fruit to wasabi pellets!!

Not much else to report at the moment been working and sleeping only this week… just a quick question to round off…. I realized today that I seem to have discovered a favourite toilet, in that it is the one I frequent the most often… does this happen to anyone else at work??… I wonder why this is??
