Ni Hao to everyone.

Im writing this today with my eyes barely open and my brain close to shutting down and refusing to function so that should give you an indication of how action packed the weekend was!

Friday evening was my annual dinner and my worst fear was actually realised... yes, I did indeed exceed the recommended alcohol intake - aghhh! For a start I was the only one on my table drinking so not only was I noticably getting sozzled by myself, the whole event wil be very clearly remembered (by everyone except me as my evening seems to have a large number of blanks which is bad news), the event itself was also videotaped so there is hard evidence of my antics!

The venue was a huuuge room inside a hotel in Hong Kong, there were about 30 tables, each with 10 people and then a big stage and projector.

The theme was movie celebrities and i was hugely impressed with the effort level from everyone! I decided in the end to don a blonde wig and go as Marilyn Monroe... My efforts paid off and I won 'Most outstanding celebrity of the evening' ... there were also loads of prize draws and I also left the dinner with a spanking new electric toothbrush, MP3 player, and a cheque for $1000 !

During the evening there were loads of performances (all in Cantonese so couldnt really tell you what was going on, hence why I did so much solitary drinking at the table!).

The dinner itself was good... 12 courses including Barbequed suckling pig (see pic!), braised shark fin with crabmeat and steamed garoupa -lots of yummy treats!

After the dinner I somehow managed to convince the senior management team to come out with me to Lan Kwai Fong... NOT a good idea the rest of the night is somewhat fuzzy, met up with my friends and woke up at the hotel with a huge bump on my head and a bruised arm ... oh dear is all I can say, very much not looking forward to the office on Monday morning going to try and keep a low profile!

I am to host the Shenzhen annual dinner next month (with my very bad Chinese so that will be interesting not quite sure how I got talked into that?!) So, I can learn from this and at the next one definately stick to water only!

Have plenty of other gossip to share with you but a bit too tired today (took my friends for karoke last night and didnt get to bed until 7am !!) so its off to bed for me and I shall update you all soon when I am feeling a bit more human once again!
