15/02/2008 Chapter Two:
Well it has been a wee while since my last post but you all know thats because I took a 13hour killer flight just for you! Seriously, 13hours with space no bigger than a postage stamp is completely non fun! It was when I had already watched 2 movies, read some of my book and had a snooze to discover that I still had 7 hours to go that I became an unhappy bunny!
It was worth it however (once I had got over the hideous jet lag!). I knew I was in for a good time in the Uk the minute I walked into a local country pub. Sat inside at the bar were 3 farmer jo stereotypes to the max... wax barber jackets, green wellies, one with a dog, one heading out the door to smoke a pipe etc One of them actually said to me 'I dont spose you come from these parts do ya' I nearly wet my pants it was that funny, felt like I had accidently walked upon the set of a sitcom!
Whilst in Bmth I caught up on some well needed rest and the gossip with everyone.
It was kind of surreal to be back and took me a few days ot get adjusted. The oddest thing (which sounds odd to say) was just how EASY everything was, there was no having to guess where to head to post a letter or which brand on the shelf looked most like the shampoo I needed for example!
Headed up to London town for a visit to the peeps up there and had a great time, throughly enjoyed myself with lots of parties, shopping and eating, as well as chillaxing.
Rounded off my trip with some trade shows as part of London Fashion Week, and have spent far too long writing a trend report, and am far too tired to go into detail about them... which you are probably breathing a sigh of relief about!
So, was planning to upgrade on the way back but quite brilliantly managed to get a great seat... one with no seats in front of me = tonnes of leg room woohoo! It was however (without me being informed) a secret arctic flight with temparatures below -1oo'C, honestly it was freezing AND I had a coat, woollen dress, tights AND two blankets!
Got back to HK to discover that I couldnt find my house keys (are they somewhere in Lauras room Dad??) luckily I knew I had a spare pair in my office so had to head there to collect them. This meant that I had to lug nearly literally double my body weight in luggage and airport shopping (couldnt resist!) back up the road to my apartment instead of getting a taxi to the door... I swear my arm has stretched 2inches as a result!
Got home last night and had a mammoth monster sleep, nearly 14hours! and headed into the office today but left bang on 6pm and now back in bed ready to get some more rest, followed by a chillaxed weekend of... resting and rest! hehe
Miss you all, so good to see you all and catch up, anyone I missed super sorry... I tried my best but without a Bernards watch its all rather difficult to get around to everyone!
So this marks the start of chapter 2 of the HK/China experience and Im sure you are all excited and looking forward to all the goss I shall be bringing your way.
Lots of big love coming down the airways once again.
Tx
