24/11/2008 - I thought Christmas was in December??
Obviously unaware of the economic downturn and determined to make shoppers part with as much of their cash as possible, I am dismayed to see that HK is in no way excluded from what seems to be a race to be the first shopping malls in the world to spew decorations from every available hanging space.
Now I realise this may read a little bah humbug, and those of you who know me know that I love to celebrate the holiday of presents and drinking (what was that about a Jesus fellow I hear you ask?!) but all I ask is that we dont drag the holiday out earlier and earlier each year. We run the risk of being sick of mince pies by June at this rate and we will all get so fed up that we will all become jaded and will be forced to consider the abandonment of the holiday season altogether, which would be tragic but possibly necessary.
I know that a single handed war against CCTEC (Christmas comes too early crimes) is not likely to effective, but then Im also aware that many of you share my sentiments and so therefore lets rally round, 'ave a word with the guvenor bruv' and put a stop to all this christmas at easter nonsense!
Recently unveiled at a shopping mall near work was this, have to say it is quite festive and pretty, have to also say would loook even better if I saw it for the 1st time on Dec 12th like you are SUPPOSED to instead of Nov 1 !!
Rant over, unless one of you reveals details of your own personal CCTEC's.
Much Love
Tx
