20/03/2009 - This week in brief.

I attended Interstoff SS10 (how quickly they fly round!) and the first thing that I noticed was how quiet the show was this year. Saw some gorgeous Japanese fabrics, but too expensive for our customer base :(

I attended a number of seminars primarily with the purpose of getting out of the office for a few hours (shh - dont tell) but was pleasantly surprised at just how much I found useful and relevant for work. Not only do I now have some insightful information to share with my colleagues (as well as a valid reason for skiving), but I also benefitted enormously on a personal level from being in a learning environment once again.

So, should any of you wish to know about material forecasts for SS10, the future of sustainable textiles, shape memory material development for knitwear, innovative wet processing machinery for knitwear, or current issues facing the manufacturing industry today; then get in touch and I can impart some of my new found wisdom.

Other available topics for discussion include 'How wasted -yet again- can I get on a schoolnight?' , 'Will I ever get used to copious unpaid overtime?' & 'Just how much sweat on a scale of lots to ridiculous amounts am I likely to produce once summer fully hits?'
