I picked up a curious looking item in the fruit section of the supermarket last night, an uneven bumpy green ball, called a Custard Apple (from Taiwan).
This instantly appealed to me because,
a) I like trying new weird things
b) I especially like trying new things when Im on detox and restricted to fruit and veg
c) I like the idea even further by the promise of 'custard' in the title

I am however accustomed to disappointment in foodstuffs here - mango pudding being a case in point, so did not raise my hopes too high.
It was DELICIOUS

Strange slightly grainy, yet mushy texture, not dissimilar to an overripe pear with a sweet, and yes slight hint of custard-esque taste to it!

Track them down people, they are yummy
