26/04/2011 - Lanvin for Lane Crawford

I got a brucie bonus surprise seeing that LC had dressed two additional windows with my illustrations. I did these sketches for their "Create & Inspire" mag and had no idea that they had used them in-store :)

In the mag they asked me: How would you like your work to inspire others?

"I like to create gourmet food for the eyes, rich in aesthetic gratification, with a dollop of delightfully sinful self indulgence on the side. Thus, I hope that I inspire others to pause every once in a while to appreciate the beautiful things in life, just because...."

And here is one more illustration I did just purely due to shoe lust (Louboutin, how I love thee)

13/11/2010 - Shiny Happy Smiley People

Recently poured some capital investment into a sparkly new mac - exciting technological tingles

For some UNKNOWN reason I also purchased a neon pink cover, so I now look like the owner of a sexy barbie robot.

I decided to head back to my Photoshop roots and produce a piece of shiny happy pop-art-esque sickeningly smiley beautiful people....

28/06/2010 - Doris

28/04/2010 - Emilie Wallbank

Emilie and I randomly discovered each other online (gotta love the tinterweb)
I fell in fashion love at 1st sight with her jewellery and we are now working on some illustrations.

Emilie creates her pieces using nylon, wire and beads. "It has a barely visible, ghost-like quality".

Emilie recently exhibited these pieces at Canary Wharf in London.

Here's one, with more to come later. This is how Id envision the piece being worn... during the summer festival months with it floating on the breeze...

24/03/2010 - UFO Gallery

Showing 8pcs of work on the 7th May at the following exhibition (woohoo)

Dead Art Comes Alive will be featuring 3 artists in each cycle, from 21st – 28th April would be Benjamin Qwek, Start from Zero and Nimchi Yuen, from 29th April - 6th May would be Mimi Leung, Mike Chan and Emily Eldridge, from 7th May - 15th May would be Shann Larsson, Sonya Fu and Tanya Bennett, and contains a wide range of artworks including oil paintings, drawings, water colours, prints, sculptures, mixed-media artworks.

ufoArtgallery and Alivenotdead share the same idea as they act as a platform to encourage artists to show their creativity. There is no “should” or “should not” in art, Dead Art Comes Alive aims to grow the audience attention to the yet-attended artists, and is a showcase of how these young artists express themselves through their artworks, it allows the audience to see the diversities and energy of some so-called deviant art, that can be witty, melancholic, mad, fun, humourous, blue and even creepy.

Tanya Bennett - Originally from the Uk, Tanya relocated to Hong Kong in order to broaden her creative think-tank of influence and inspiration. She graduated with a Bsc degree in Clothing Manufacturing & Design from the Scottish School of Textiles, and specialized in Fashion Illustration. Combining her deep rooted love of fashion, illustration, and the power of femininity, Tanya explores traditional, digital, and mixed media platforms to present beautiful and compelling images of women, each ascribed a befitting "Doris" moniker. Quoting the 18th Century Arts patron, Madame Marie du Deffand, Tanya believes and tries to convey with the characters that she creates that: “Women are never stronger than when they arm themselves with their weaknesses”

Then I went and left my sketchbook in a taxi NOooooooooooooooooooo !!!

The HK lost property fairy is yet to bestow me her great grace, despite me ringing the taxi hotline about once every 30mins.

19/01/2010 - Bags & Babies...

Marketing Director: "We need a fresh direction that is going to pull consumers into the shop and part with that hard earned cash to buy one of our luxury bags. WHAT amazing visual merchandising can we create to convince the consumer in these tough economic times?"

Marketing Creative Team: "Babies"

Marketing Director: "Babies???!"

Marketing Creative Team: "Yep, Babies. Cheap plastic slightly creepy looking ones strewn randomly across the window for no particular reason...."

Marketing Director:
"EXCELLENT - lets add some pink balloons for extra classy effect"

02/09/2009 - Speak Up! Video

Since all my favourite people from the motherland cannot make it to my cherry popping, mini showcase this eve, I have converted the powerpoint I will be showing into a movie - oooooh aren't I clever!
Ive even managed to embed it into the blog and everything - its only taking me ALL day and and a billion Goggle searches to suss it out.
I didnt get as far as adding the music (even my genius has limits), so for those who want the full 'I felt as if I was in the room with you' experience, then listen to Mr Scruff, Valley of the Sausages at the same time.
Here it is for your viewing pleasure:

Miss you

14/08/2009 - Technicoloured Raincoat

The season of torrential typhoon downpours... also means the season of frizzy hair and ruined shoes. What is a girl to wear in such conditions??
If I ever decide to wear a raincoat and wellies, then it most definitely has to be like these brightly coloured items spotted on the streets of Tin Hau. Check it out... its friggin awesome (if a bit dazzling)

06/08/2009 - Manly Grrrr

(I know its fashion judgment)

24/07/2009 - Random

Read this today, it made me chuckle:
Job in a Million
Big spending shoppers with a mainland dept store chain will soon be vying for a '600,000 yuan loyalty bonus' - the chance to represent the firm for a year as a spokesperson.
Competition will be tough, there could be more than a million applicants. Only VIP members can join the contest to find a male and a female brand ambassador, and though shoppers must spend 3000 yuan in one go, or 5000 yuan within 3months to qualify, there are 1.53 million members in this category.
Candidates will have to dance, take part in a fashion show and, in their swimwear, face a barrage of questions to win.

Also spotted, some great t-shirts:
One read 'Man, Im so hungover I could die' - want it

And, a MATCHING tshirt and trouser set printed with images from the titanic movie - groovy in a reeeeally bad taste kinda way

16/07/2009 FW10

I know I KNOW... everyone has been on my case about non bloggage and I start yet another entry with an apology!
The reason you see is that a new season has kicked off which means fashion prison for us here at work, the relaxing (yet a tad boring) quiet lull between seasons officially finished and it has been hectic ever since.
So, we are currently working on Fall / Winter 2010 (yes..10!) presentation material accumulating in the internal presentation itself this week.
Thought Id share a few pics of what has been keeping me from otherwise filling my time with witty anecdotes for my fantabulous readers.

Personal points of interest for womenswear next autumn is feathers, dusty purple hues in denim, surface texture and the return of velvet and wide cut corduroy to the mainstream. Also on the early hunt for an oversized houndstooth blazer jacket.. mark my fashion crystal ball words!
