05/12/2010 - Piratay Senor
09/07/10 - Viking in town
My Norwegian friend Espen was in town last weekend, I decided to show him the 'other side' of HK, being beaches and mountains instead of the typical tourist trail through the depths of Lan Kwai and smelly skyscrapers... naturally this being Honkers, even the shelter of nature couldn't keep us from alcohol for too long (!) Besides after hiking during mid afternoon sun in July (not my most sensible idea ever) we deserved a few cheeky cocktails :)

02/02/2010 - No Dancing Fun :(

Favourite DJs ever: 2 Many DJs
Location: Venetian Hotel, Macau
Entry requirements: Hong Kong ID card...
Or so we thought...
Scary Immigration dude: 'Passport missy?'
Excited Raver (me): 'uh...no, I just have my HKID card, I thought that was all we needed?'
Scary Immigration dude: 'Follow me...'
Me and the wife got led into the small room you hope to never have to enter where ID cards are taken away and you are told to sit in cold plastic chairs.
Stern looking man re-enters and barks 'sign here'
Now thoroughly deflated about the non rave scenario, and feeling like a spanner for not bringing my passport we sheepishly shuffle over to the desk to sign.... 'ARTICLE 4th'
Me: 'Excuse me, what is Article 4th?'
Official dude: 'Says right there, pls sign.'
Me: 'uh... its in Chinese, NOT signing!'
Official dude: 'you sign'
Me: 'No'
etc etc, until he says 'ok, no sign, follow me' (??!) and we get escorted by custom officials back onto the ferry and across to HK where a nice lady in Hk explains we are a couple of idiots, and only permanent residents can use their IDs to enter Macau.
An almost international adventure :(
16/11/2009 - B-b-b-bangkok Baby!
I just got back from my first ever trip to Bangkok. It was surprisingly relaxed considering I was only there for a day and a half. The traffic in Bkk is horrendous and getting anywhere by car takes forever. We decided, induced by our excessive party behaviour in Honkers, to hire a driver to take us out of the city and into the neighbouring province to sight see and shizzle. (although to be fair we didnt realise that the drive was going to take 2 hours and there was a hairy moment where I thought we might possibly be being driven into Black Market Kidney town). Here's basically my my trip in pictures for all you blog devotees.
Miss you
x
The floating markets in the canals of the neighboring province:
That's me sat on an elephant!!! As you do on a Saturday afternoon...
A visit to the 'Reclining Buddah' temple. We got told off for being 'too sexy' (uncovered shoulders) and there was an entire wall of pots where you deposit one coin into each as you walk the length of the temple and as you do you make a wish or say thanks for something you are grateful for.
Crazy ass flooding when it POURED down mid afternoon!
Freaky animal shows (I didnt go see any of these by the way):
Rounding of the sun soaked day - Enjoying cocktails on the rooftop of Bangkok's tallest building: Vertigo bar on the 59th floor... where drinks are made of gold (a glass of HOUSE red was nearly 10 golden pounds!)

13/11/2009 - Whirlwind
An exciting, but exhausting visit from Paula and Karina, joined also by Chris who just moved here. Ive been showing them the sights (of Lan Kwai Fong) and we ran up possibly the most impressive sambucca bill I have ever seen. Its off to Bangkok tonight for the weekend... yes the weekend (!) to further punish my body with excessive party behaviour.
Misses

31/08/2009 - Beachy beach time
The Macpherson Clan have descended on Hk and what a better introduction than to whisk them off in a speedboat to a faraway beach to absorb some beautiful clean air, swim in the gorgeous seas, and boggle over the vast array of seafood on offer!!
