Dino Fever in Honkers:

20/01/2011 - Storage Boxes

Amused

Personal Favourite:

14/01/2011 - Dino fever

Seems to be a large number of dinosaur references about in the Kong lately. Latest crop:

12/12/2010 - Boke

05/12/2010 - Making a point...

05/12/2010 - And, we're back

Small break from blogging for the Pops to visit, and have also been trying to wrap my head around the new job. Lots of photos to share:
First up - One of HKs more amusing personalised numberplates

22/10/2010 - Plastic Fantastic

ok, a dollop of good lighting and some photoshop enhancements is one thing, but to advertise expensive facial improvements using CLEARLY DIFFERENT PEOPLE is quite another....

04/10/2010 - Best numberplate EVER

Want it!!!

17/09/10 - Orange & Oranger

Now that Im an old timer who has been here for what seems like forever (3years yesterday) I do find that a lot of what used to surprise me Dali style has almost become normal, filtered and unnoticed whilst meandering around and about.
So, thank goodness for newbies. Becca who is fresh of the boat recently snapped this fantastic signage of the orange variety.

16/09/10 - Fabric Street

One for the Gala girls:

Sign for Berwick St (which is a fabric stockist street in london town) located at the exit to Sham Shiu Po mtr station - which is the HK fabric supplier area. Linked i wonder?

Speaking of Uni days, its been exactly 3years ago today that I landed in HK!!!
Mental

9/16/10 - Irony?

Also, not sure what is going on with the giant dog bra/bow

28/06/2010 - We're so crazy!

Saw this outside a clothing shop here called Bossini... made me laugh, those crazy cats with ice creams.

17/06/2010 WRONG but funny

Spotted on the side of the road in Clearwater Bay:

10/06/2010 - Cute Power

Apologies, lack of recent contact.. being confined to the fluro-lit world without windows has inhibited my ability to capture amusing shiz for you to read about.
Here is some examples of a couple of Chinese advertisements... seems cutesy cartoons have a great impact on wallets in HK..

Only a couple examples here, but I promise you there are LOTS

21/02/2010 - Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh

Wonderful country, lovely friendly people, AMAZING food, super cheap, pretty and hot diggigy dog. Here's the pics:

Lunar New Year Decorations deluxe - year of the tiger grrr

Motorbikes EVERYWHERE, creating constant death zone scenarios!

Mekong Delta River trip

Vung Tau - trip to the nearest beach, 2.5hrs away on a public bus (hilarious trip full of bewilderment due to being clueless gweilo girls)

Random Signs

08/02/2010 - Wrong Bookstore

If you are in a book store and cannot find
the book you are looking for, you're obviously
in the.....

20/01/2010 - Goodbye Dear

Yep, ceremonies for pets, as seen advertised in a cab last night...

07/12/2009 - Le Stronge

A highly unusual spotting on the side of a bus...
A poster advertising smoking paraphernalia, entitled 'Spliff' in large letters.

Mind you, common rumour here in Honkers is that red top buses are Triad owned so it makes sense that they should utilise their advertisement platforms...

05/06/2009 - Spotted

Now, my Chinese is far from fluent (or even basic) but Im pretty certain this is definitely NOT the sugar section...

Yes, I too am confused by the geese on the head of naked children illustration on this random little poster spotted in SnT's lift recently - A msg directed at the rowdy gweilos perhaps?

SWINE FLU - cover everything in plastic.. that'll stop the spread of germ... uh huh

07/05/2009 - Spread the public panic !!

Notices like this one below(click on the pic to enlarge it for full reading potential) are popping up all over the place in light of the swine flu apparent pandemic sweeping the globe - anyone else feel as if the media have just got bored of talking about the recession?
I consider the citizens of Hk to be fairly advanced, I mean I am currently residing one of the worlds leading financial capitals with mind boggling skyscrapers, and advanced transportation systems, within a cosmopolitan playground, and yet we must still be advised to 'flush after using the toilet' and 'increase cleaning if pets are kept'... Even more peculiar is given the number of households who employ a domestic helper, this information is even more redundant - SAVE THE TREES !!
Well it makes for good blog fodder at least.
